ACI EUROPE #WAGA 2023

Within the scope of the ACI EUROPE/World Annual General Assembly, Conference & Exhibition 2023 (WAGA 2023), a workshop under the theme "Disabled Aircraft Recovery and the Importance of Preparedness for Airports" was held on 26 June, whose panel of speakers included, among others, Pedro Silva - Director of the Lisbon Airport Fire Service.

The objective of this workshop was to understand which skills and abilities are necessary to manage an aircraft recovery event effectively and safely. Through a simulated scenario, the workshop presented some of the challenges in managing a disabled aircraft operation, which carries a shared responsibility and requires communication, coordination, training, and equipment to be successful.

WAGA 2023 takes place in Barcelona from 26 to 28 June and features a cutting-edge conference programme with outstanding speakers from airports, airlines, institutions and aviation and non-aviation partners from around the world.
