LISBON AIRPORT

Lisbon Airport received on June 18, the first direct flight of the United Arab Emirates airline - Etihad, from ABU DHABI, a new destination for Portugal. The celebration of this first flight was attended by the Ambassador of Portugal in UAE, Fernando d'Orey de Brito e Cunha Figueirinhas, Chris Hedlin, Etihad's Vice-President of Network Planning, received by the Director of Lisbon Airport, Rui Alves, ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal | VINCI Airports and Routes Development Manager of the Commercial Aviation Department, Alexandra Malvezin.

The new route, for an international hub, increases the connectivity of the Humberto Delgado airport, allowing the Portuguese to travel more easily to destinations such as Thailand and the Maldives, among others, also fostering the discovery of Portugal by more tourists from other countries.

The flights will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, in a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, probably until October.
