NetZero ACI EUROPE

28 June 2023

With the start of the ACI EUROPE/World Annual General Assembly, Congress and Exhibition in Barcelona, the European airport sector has put environmental sustainability centre stage. ACI EUROPE's Net Zero resolution involves more and more airports, accelerated targets and greater transparency.

Airports committed to this commitment exceed 300 across Europe. And more than 130 are now set to fully decarbonise their emissions under their control by 2030, contributing significantly to the EU target of reducing CO2 emissions by 55% in that period.

This is the case for the 10 ANA/VINCI airports that aim to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030:

2023: Beja, Madeira and Ponta Delgada Airports
2026: Porto Santo Airport
2030: Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Santa Maria, Horta and Flores airports

Decarbonising emissions from airports is a major priority for the European airport sector.
