NEW NAME FOR FARO AIRPORT

The official naming ceremony for Faro Airport, now called Gago Coutinho Airport, took place in September 2022.Celebrating the history of Portuguese aviation, with an eye to the future, the Airport welcomed the Prime Minister, António Costa, who paid tribute to the centenary of the South Atlantic Air Crossing.
Positioning VINCI Airports' strategy for sustainability, Nicolas Notebaert, CEO of VINCI Concessions and President of VINCI Airports assumed the goal of making Portuguese airports in the group NetZero by 2030, an ambition that anticipates the Paris Agreement, pointing out that the first photovoltaic plant in national airports is already in operation, at Gago Coutinho Airport, in Faro.
